- Assemble documented supervised electrical experience
- Prepare liability insurance evidence with completed operations
- Submit examination application and await approval before scheduling
- Schedule Electrical and Business and Law examinations through PSI
- Confirm license assignment to a single contracting company
Local (Toledo)
- Verify current local application requirements and fees with the City of Toledo
- Confirm apprentice or trainee registration status
- Document locally tracked hours and supervision
- Complete local examination requirements where applicable
- Track local continuing education separately from OCILB CE
- Confirm local contractor registration and permit privileges
Ongoing compliance
- Monitor credential and insurance expiration countdowns
- Complete at least 5 approved electrical-code CE hours annually plus additional approved hours
- Keep manager verification current on experience entries
- Refresh regulatory content when sources change
